Installation; unfired clay, water, 2019
Unfired clay has no permanence. Its capacity to transform from one state to another is an endless cycle. Liquid, solid, dust. In its solid state, clay registers even the lightest of touches, just as every person that enters our life, every experience, or moment in time touches us in some way and leaves its mark. In time the installation piece transforms and the marks are no longer visible as the clay absorbs water and takes on a new form. But deep inside, the clay has registered that mark, and it will form part of it, always.
